Not Far to Getaway
I've realized you don't need to go away to have a getaway. Tight on funds, my husband and I decided to make a trip out of Main Street in Patchogue, which is not even fifteen minutes from our house. First we packed our bags for two nights away. Friday night we took the short drive over to the Hampton Inn in Brookhaven, which is a short drive from Main Street. After unwinding in the hotel room we went down to enjoy a nice dinner at Mangia Mangia on Main Street. This is a great Italian restaurant that is so authentic you wouldn't believe it's located right in the middle of this small town. The food is spectacular, as is the atmosphere and the service. After our meal we went right next door to the Patchogue Theater at which we had tickets to see a show. The theater has a great assortment of plays, dancers, and orchestras to go watch.
